(一)LED waterproof power supply and LED non-waterproof power supply.

 According to the installation environment, the LED power supply can be divided into the waterproof power supply and non-waterproof power supply. LED waterproof power supplies are mainly used in outdoor damp or rainy environments; LED non-waterproof power supplies are mostly suitable for indoor lighting projects.

(二)Non dimmable LED power supply and dimmable LED power supply

 The LED era is developing rapidly, and the control of lamps is no longer a simple turning on and off. A variety of dimming power supply methods have been used in various shopping malls, hotels, and office buildings to meet the needs of the light environment at different times and in different scenarios. The LED power supply can be divided into the dimming power supply and non-dimming power supply according to whether it has a dimming function. There are 4 types of constant voltage dimming power supplies that we commonly use in the market. They are Triac dimming power supplies, 0/1-10V dimming power supplies, PWM dimming power supplies, Dali dimming power supplies, etc., which will be introduced below. Let’s take a look at their respective working principles and advantages.

(1) Triac dimming power supply
Triac dimming is divided into constant voltage dimming and constant current dimming modes. It supports leading and trailing edge dimming. Its working principle is to use the waveform of the input voltage to cut through the conduction angle to generate a tangential Output voltage waveform. Applying the tangential principle can reduce the effective value of the output voltage of the SCR dimmer, thereby reducing the power of the ordinary load (resistive load). The advantages of thyristor dimming are high working efficiency and stable performance.


(2) 0/1-10V dimming power supply
0/1-10V dimming is divided into constant voltage dimming and constant current dimming modes. The power supply is designed with a new control chip. When a 0-10V dimmer is connected, the output current can be changed through a 0-10V voltage change, for example: When the 0-10V dimmer is modulated to 0V, the current drops to 0, and the brightness of the light is also off (with a light-on function). When the 0-10V dimmer is adjusted to a maximum of 10V, the output current will also reach the power output of 100%, the brightness will also be 100% (the output voltage is constant). 1-10V has no switch function, and the lamp cannot be adjusted to the lowest shutdown function. The 0/1-10V dimming power supply has the advantage of strong compatibility and can be compatible with various 0-10V dimmers and control systems on the market.


(3) PWM dimming power supply
PWM dimming is a digital dimming method that changes the conduction time of the forward current by turning on and off the LED through the PWM wave to achieve the effect of adjusting the brightness. PWM is a very effective technology that uses the digital output of a microprocessor to control analog circuits. It is widely used in many fields such as measurement, communication, power control, power transformation, and LED lighting. Through the digital control of the analog circuit, the cost and power consumption of the system can be greatly reduced. In addition, many microcontrollers and DSPs already include PWM controllers on their chips, which makes the implementation of digital control easier. This method is based on the fact that human eyes are not sufficiently sensitive to brightness flicker. If the frequency of light and shadow exceeds 100Hz, the human eye sees the average brightness, not the LED flicker. PWM adjusts the brightness by adjusting the ratio of light to a dark time. In the PWM cycle, the perceived brightness is a cumulative process because the flash frequency of the human eye exceeds 100 Hz. In other words, the greater the proportion of the bright time in the entire cycle, the brighter the human eye feels.


(4) Dali dimming power supply
Dali dimming power supply is divided into constant voltage dimming and constant current dimming modes. DALI dimming is a digital technology control, Dali abbreviation: digital addressable lighting interface, with dual-stage PFC correction, high conversion efficiency, and stability Strong; circuit design conforms to the international certification standard EMC guidelines, based on ST chip integrated design, integrated scheme, simple and convenient wiring! Seamless compatibility with domestic and foreign DALI dimmers and DALI control systems, standardized protocol schemes! DALI is characterized by the ability of system terminal control Precise point-to-point control of lights, DALI dimming, each led light will have an independent address, which can communicate in two directions, and the system can identify the ID of each power supply; it can use a signal line to connect all the lights and then group them arbitrarily. Control can bring a lot of flexibility to control, combined with its sensors, timing control can bring significant energy-saving effects, as long as with the support of the system, DALI power supply can give the system feedback precise points of failure; the port is easier to connect to the Internet, Realize remote monitoring.
